The Trump Administration and its allies are lashing out, changing the rules, and attempting to undermine the upcoming midterm elections to cling to power. They are blocking people from voting, threatening to send ICE agents to polling stations, and setting the stage to try to declare themselves winners, no matter the results.
If their regime succeeds, they will seize even more power to slash social services, expand ICE terror, and intensify imperialist wars, all while gutting democratic safeguards and handing even more power and tax breaks to the billionaires.
This is a fight for our futures. But if we Get Ready, we can win.
As attacks on democracy intensify leading up to the midterms, so must our readiness. We must stand together and prepare to act. The fight to defend democracy from an authoritarian power grab can’t be fought in battle ground states alone. What’s at stake touches all of us. Every region has a part to play.
The billionaire-backed MAGA movement is attacking our elections.
The Bay Area Has A Key Role
Last year, Bay Resistance, alongside hundreds of community organizations, unions, faith leaders, and neighborhood groups, came together to prepare for a threatened ICE invasion of the Bay Area. When ICE was deployed, our collective organizing helped force Trump to call off a full ICE occupation. Together, we proved what is possible when our communities are organized before a crisis begins.
Now we are building on that foundation. What we come together to decide to do before, during, and beyond the November midterms will determine if the Bay is ready to respond to the severity of this threat.
The Bay has a unique legacy and responsibility in the fight to protect our democracy. We're home to the tech billionaires helping bankroll MAGA and build the infrastructure of authoritarianism, mass surveillance, and ICE violence. We're also home to movements with the power to stop MAGA from consolidating power by rigging the November midterm elections.
We’re joining with May Day Strong and cities across the country to launch an election defense strategy to activate voters, leverage our proximity to Trump’s allies in the tech industry, and be prepared to respond to electoral intimidation and sabotage.
The Redline Plan
If MAGA sabotages the midterm election anywhere in the country by:
Seizing ballots,
Deploying ICE, military, or vigilantes to the polls to stop people from voting,
Not counting all the votes,
Not following transparency rules & having secret counts,
Refusing to certify election results,
Refusing to seat the elected leaders, and/or
Other acts of overreach we cannot even imagine yet.
We will take action immediately, if any of these redlines is crossed*.
*We will get an assessment from organizers in the geography(s) where the election interference is happening and check in with the other major metro areas who are organizing to take action together to coordinate our response.
Phase 1.
Orient:
hold a Mass call as soon as we see a red line crossed
Phase 2.
Day 1 Mobilization:
rally in San Francisco at Embarcadero Plaza at 7am the following day
Phase 3.
Grow:
conduct daily ongoing outreach at transit stations and in our neighborhoods
Phase 4.
Escalate to mass noncooperation:
build pressure until elected congress members are seated on
January 4th, 2027.

Join hundreds of people from across the Bay to assess conditions, practice democratic decision making, and shape collective strategy for how we Get Ready between now and November.
Following the People's Assembly, choose one of two training tracks:
1. Intro to Noncooperation: Learn how strategic noncooperation can be used to defend democracy and defeat authoritarianism. Ideal for those new to Bay Resistance trainings.
2. Nonviolent Direct Action Training 2.0: Designed for participants who have already completed a Bay Resistance noncooperation training. This advanced track includes in-person direct-action role-plays and skill-building.
Bring your people, get trained up, and show up in mass to send a deterrent message that the Bay is organized and prepared to respond to an election steal.

Take on Authoritarian Tech
Call on key tech companies like Flock and Palantir that back the regime to stop contracting with ICE, to pay taxes, and to stand against fascism rather than profiting from it.

Spread the Word & Get Out The Vote
Join Seed The Vote to connect to canvassing efforts and critical races at risk of being contested. Volunteer to doorknock, phonebank, recruit your friends & family, fundraise, and help out behind the scenes.
